Purchase ledger reconciliation using supplier statements
Purchase ledger reconciliation checks that accounts-payable transactions agree with an independent supplier statement. It helps explain supplier balances before payment or period close.
Reconcile a supplier statementWhat you are validating
The statement can expose invoices or credits not recorded internally. The ledger can contain entries outside the statement period, duplicates or values that differ from the supplier’s record.
Reference-level checking
A strong reconciliation uses transaction references and signed amounts, not only the closing balance. Exact reference groups can be classified consistently while ambiguous duplicates remain visible.
Using tallyvero
Export the supplier’s purchase-ledger transactions and combine that export with the supplier statement in tallyvero. Files remain on your device.
Two views of one supplier account
This comparison can reveal transactions present on only one side, inconsistent amounts and duplicate references. It does not replace bank reconciliation, general-ledger review or confirmation of the underlying document.
Use the result as an investigation list
A missing classification means no match was established under the current mappings and approved rules. Check periods, references, credits and source documents before concluding that a posting is absent.
